BRIDGE is a global commission supported by the biopharmaceutical company UCB, with the goal of ensuring no person must choose between properly managing a severe chronic condition and nursing or growing their family. The project involved creating three educational resources to help women living with chronic conditions understand the role of research and have more informed conversations with their healthcare providers.
The subject matter was serious, and the information could feel intimidating, so the design needed to make the content feel less clinical and more human without diminishing its importance. BRIDGE's colours provided the starting point, while custom illustrations, iconography and infographics helped break down the information and give it warmth. Representation was also considered carefully, with imagery reflecting women at different stages of their reproductive journey — from considering pregnancy to being pregnant or breastfeeding. The three resources were designed as a family, using shared visual cues while allowing each piece to speak to its specific content.
